Kosher Vending Service for NYC.
Real kosher vending. Not a token shelf in a generic machine — a fully kosher-certified product selection across snacks, beverages, food, and essentials. OU, OK, and Star-K certified items sourced from established kosher distributors. Built for NYC's Jewish institutions, day schools, yeshivas, synagogues, nonprofits, senior centers, offices, and residential buildings.
Free delivery, free installation, free maintenance. No contracts. Your community deserves a vending program that takes kashrut seriously.
⚡Serving Jewish institutions and kosher communities across all five NYC boroughs. Tell us about your institution.
Most Vending Treats Kosher as an Afterthought.
Walk into many Jewish institutions and you'll find a vending machine with one or two clearly-marked kosher items wedged between dozens of non-kosher products. Or a machine labeled 'kosher selections available' where the kosher options are limited to a handful of granola bars and bottled water. Or worse — a machine where staff or members have to read every label to confirm a hechsher because the operator doesn't actually understand kashrut.
That's not a kosher vending program. That's a regular vending machine with a few kosher products in it.
Lumi treats kosher vending as the whole point of the machine — not a checkbox. Every product, every shelf, every selection is sourced and stocked with kashrut as the operating principle, not the exception.

Real Kosher. Real Variety. Real Respect for Kashrut.
Operating a serious kosher vending program isn't difficult — it just requires actually caring about it. The certifications have to be real and verifiable. The product variety has to extend beyond a token shelf. The supply chain has to be reliable. And the operator has to understand the communities they're serving.
Lumi treats kosher vending with the seriousness it deserves. Here's what that means in practice.
What makes our kosher service different:
OU, OK, and Star-K certified products — We source from established kosher distributors carrying products with the major US certification authorities. Every certified product in our machines is verifiable by the hechsher on the package.
Full machine kosher — When you choose a kosher machine setup, every product in the machine is kosher-certified. No mixed machines, no token shelf. The whole machine is consistent so members and staff can purchase with confidence.
Real variety across categories — Kosher-certified snacks, beverages, food, hot food (where applicable), and even some essentials. Not just granola bars and water.
Dairy and pareve clearly separated — Where machines stock both dairy and pareve items, they're clearly labeled and physically organized so the distinction is obvious.
Dietary inclusivity beyond kashrut — Many of our kosher products also align with other dietary considerations — gluten-free, low-sugar, heart-healthy, nut-free. We coordinate with your population's specific needs.
Reliable supply chain — Established relationships with kosher distributors mean consistent stock. No 'we ran out of the kosher items this week' situations.
Modern cashless machines — Credit, debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay. No cash handling burden on your staff. (Cash acceptance available where helpful — common in senior settings.)
24-hour maintenance response — Issues resolved within 24 hours. Restocking on a reliable schedule.
Full liability insurance — COI and compliance documentation provided to your operations or compliance team on request.
Direct point of contact — Institutional leaders get a real human — not a ticket queue.
Built for the Institutions That Make Up Jewish Life in NYC.
Synagogues, Shuls & Religious Institutions
From large congregations to smaller shuls, synagogues often host events, classes, and daily minyanim where members spend hours on site. A kosher vending machine in the social hall, library, or classroom area provides snacks, beverages, and food without requiring a staffed kitchen or catering setup. Especially valuable for evening events, study programs, and shabbaton preparation.
WHO WE SERVE
Jewish Day Schools & Yeshivas
Day schools, yeshivas, and Jewish high schools serve students, faculty, and visiting parents throughout the day. A reliable kosher vending program covers breakfast, snack times, lunch supplements, and after-school hours. Parents and staff need to trust that every product is verifiably kosher — and that the variety actually matches what students will eat. We stock accordingly.
Jewish Senior Centers & NORC Programs
Jewish senior centers serve diverse observant populations — some strictly kosher, some traditional, some Conservative or Reform with varying personal practice. We provide a fully kosher selection so every senior can use the machine with confidence, paired with the heart-healthy, low-sodium, and diabetic-friendly options seniors need. Fair pricing — captive populations should never be price-gouged.
Kosher vending isn't one audience — it's a network of institutions that span religious, educational, social, and professional life. We serve them all:
Jewish Nonprofits & Community Organizations
Federations, JCCs, advocacy organizations, social services nonprofits, and community foundations — Jewish institutions whose staff and visitors expect kosher availability as a baseline. A reliable kosher vending program supports staff during long workdays, board meetings, and community programs without requiring catering for every occasion.
Kosher Healthcare & Rehab Facilities
Jewish-affiliated hospitals, kosher rehabilitation facilities, and assisted living communities where kashrut is part of the institutional identity. Patients, residents, families, and staff all benefit from a reliable kosher vending program — especially during overnight hours when staffed kitchens are closed.
Kosher Offices & Workplaces
Some NYC offices maintain a kosher kitchen and expect their breakroom vending to match. Whether your office is fully kosher by company policy, has a significant observant workforce, or simply prioritizes kosher inclusivity for hybrid teams — we build the program around your standards.
Jewish Residential Buildings & Co-ops
Buildings with significant Jewish residential populations — particularly those serving observant communities in neighborhoods like Borough Park, Crown Heights, Williamsburg, the Five Towns, Flatbush, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens Hills, and the Upper West Side. A lobby vending machine stocked with kosher options is a real amenity for residents.
Camps, Event Venues & Catering Halls
Day camps and overnight camps during the summer. Kosher event venues and catering halls. Spaces where a self-service kosher option supports the main program without competing with the staffed kitchen or catering.
Real Variety.
Real Kashrut.
No Token Shelf.
Snacks
Kosher chocolate & candy — OU/OK-certified chocolate bars, candies, and confections from established brands.
Cookies & baked goods — shelf-stable kosher cookies, biscuits, and baked snacks.
Chips & savory snacks — kosher-certified chips, pretzels, popcorn, crackers, and savory snack mixes.
Protein bars & granola — kosher-certified bars across major brands — many gluten-free and lower-sugar options available.
Nuts, seeds & dried fruit — OU-certified packaged options for healthy snacking.
Kosher jerky & meat snacks — where requested for offices, gyms, and workplaces.
Beverages
Bottled water — still and sparkling, kosher-certified.
Sodas & juices — kosher-certified beverages across mainstream and specialty brands.
Coffee & tea — kosher-certified coffee and tea options (bean-to-cup coffee programs available — see our Office Coffee Service page).
Sports drinks & electrolytes — kosher-certified hydration options.
Energy drinks — kosher-certified options where requested.
Food
Sandwiches & wraps — where refrigeration is available, kosher prepared meals from approved kosher commissaries.
Hot food — where the setup allows (hot food vending machine or heated display case), real kosher meals served from kosher commissary partners. Coordinated carefully — see FAQ on hot food and kashrut below.
Yogurts, parfaits & breakfast items — kosher-certified refrigerated breakfast options.
Cold-stable food items — soup cups, oatmeal, instant meals — all kosher-certified.
Essentials & Toiletries
Personal care items — pain relievers, hand sanitizer, lip balm, basic toiletries, feminine hygiene, tissues, baby essentials.
Every kosher machine is stocked with the full range your community actually wants. Typical product categories include:

Note: most personal care items don't require kashrut certification, but we ensure no products are placed that could create kashrut confusion in a fully kosher setting.

Hot Kosher Food in Vending — How We Approach It.
Hot food adds an extra layer of kashrut consideration. Bishul yisroel, dairy-meat separation, kli rishon vs. kli sheni considerations, and certification of the preparing commissary all matter. Most generic vending operators ignore these issues entirely — Lumi doesn't.
When we install hot food capability in a kosher setting (either a hot food vending machine with built-in heating or a heated display case as part of a micro market), we coordinate with:
Your rabbinic authority — for any institution with a mashgiach, rabbi, or rabbinic standards body, we work within their requirements.
Certified kosher commissary partners — the prepared food comes from kosher-certified commissaries with verifiable hechsher on every package.
Clear labeling — every hot food item is clearly labeled with its hechsher and any relevant kashrut details (dairy/pareve, fleishig/milchig, etc.).
If your institution has specific kashrut standards beyond what general OU/OK/Star-K certification covers (Cholov Yisroel, Pas Yisroel, Bishul Yisroel, glatt-only, or specific rabbinic authority requirements), tell us during the site assessment. We work within institutional requirements — and we're honest about what we can and can't deliver based on supply availability.

Zero Cost to Your Institution. Here's How.
No catch. We earn revenue on product sales — that's our entire business model. The machine itself, delivery, installation, ongoing maintenance, and restocking are all our investment, not yours. Our kosher vending program operates on the same model as our general vending — the difference is the curation, not the commercial structure.

How Lumi works
Step 1: Tell us about your institution.
A conversation about your community — size, observance level, specific kashrut standards (if stricter than general OU/OK/Star-K), dietary considerations, and what your members and staff would most benefit from. Takes about 15 minutes.
Step 2: We visit the site.
We come on-site to assess where the machine fits, walk through any institutional protocols, and coordinate with your operations or facilities team. Free, no obligation.
Step 3: We design the kosher product mix.
Stocking plan customized to your community. We share the proposed product list with your team — including hechsher details — for review before installation. If your institution has a mashgiach or rabbinic standards body, we coordinate directly with them.
From first call to fully stocked — here's what to expect.

Step 4: We install.
Installation scheduled around your institutional calendar — and Jewish holidays. Most setups install in under two hours. Full micro markets take longer.
Step 5: Your community starts using it.
Cashless payments from day one — card, Apple Pay, Google Pay. Cash where helpful.
Step 6: We keep it running, always.
Remote inventory monitoring, scheduled restocking, and 24-hour maintenance response. Your dedicated Lumi contact is always reachable.
Questions From Institutional Leaders — Answered.
Are the products actually kosher-certified?
Yes. Every product in a Lumi kosher machine carries a recognized hechsher — primarily OU, OK, and Star-K, with additional certifications as the supply chain offers. The certification is visible on every package. We're happy to share product lists with your mashgiach, rabbi, or institutional kashrut authority before installation.
What about Cholov Yisroel, Pas Yisroel, or Glatt-only requirements?
Tell us during the site assessment. We work with kosher distributors who can source Cholov Yisroel dairy products and Pas Yisroel baked goods where requested, though product variety in these categories is narrower. Glatt-only meat products are similar — possible but with reduced selection. We're honest about what we can and can't deliver based on supply availability, and we'll never claim a certification we can't substantiate.
Can you coordinate with our rabbinic authority or mashgiach?
Yes — and we welcome it. For any institution with a mashgiach, rabbi, or rabbinic standards body, we coordinate directly. We share product lists, sourcing information, and certifications for review. If your institution requires periodic mashgiach inspection or oversight, we accommodate that protocol.
How is the machine kept fully kosher? What if a non-kosher product gets in by mistake?
Our stocking process for kosher machines is separate from our general machines. The restocking team handling kosher accounts follows a dedicated product list. Every restock is logged. We never mix kosher and non-kosher products in the same machine. If a kashrut concern is ever raised about a product, we remove and replace it immediately and investigate the supply chain.
Do you do hot kosher food in vending?
Yes. Hot food vending machines with built-in heating elements can hold prepared kosher meals at temperature. Heated display cases as part of a full micro market work better for larger institutions wanting real menu variety — breakfast sandwiches, lunch entrées, hot dinners — served by kosher-certified commissary partners. We coordinate hot food kashrut considerations (bishul yisroel, dairy/meat separation, etc.) with your institutional standards.
Do you work with strictly kosher day schools and yeshivas?
Yes. We work with strictly kosher institutions and coordinate with the head of school, mashgiach, or kashrut authority on stocking standards. For institutions with specific community standards (Pas Yisroel, Cholov Yisroel, specific hechsher requirements), we work within those requirements transparently.
Can you accommodate Passover (Pesach) restrictions?
Yes — though Passover stocking is a coordinated process. Several weeks before Pesach we coordinate with your institution to either: (1) replace the machine inventory with kosher-for-Passover-certified products for the duration of the holiday, (2) remove or seal the machine during Pesach if your institution's standards require it, or (3) keep the machine offline during Pesach. We work with your institutional decision-makers on the right approach.
What about Shabbat — does the machine need to be turned off?
Tell us your institutional standard. Some institutions keep vending machines running through Shabbat with no concern; others prefer them turned off or disconnected for Shabbat and Yom Tov. We coordinate the protocol with your operations team and respect whatever standard your community holds.
Is there really no cost to my institution?
None at all. No rental fees, no installation charges, no maintenance costs, no restocking fees. Ever. We earn on product sales. Your institution pays nothing.
Can you handle multiple Jewish institutions or a federation network?
Yes. If you operate or are connected to multiple Jewish institutions across NYC — a federation network, a network of day schools, a federation-supported senior services network — we coordinate the rollout. One point of contact, one billing relationship, consistent kashrut standards across every site.
What if we want the machine removed?
Just say the word. No penalties, no exit fees. We want to be in institutions where we're genuinely serving the community well. If that changes, we'd rather know.
⚡Most institutional accounts launch within two to four weeks of first contact.
